I was invited to contribute to the anthology The “I” Word before Christmas 2012. The anthology is now available to buy both on Kindle and in Bookform – I earn no royalties and still own my words 🙂 here they are:

Words; putting life on a page, spelling out the name, the phrase. Placing the full stops and commas in the right places. ‘Pity.’ she said – I became upset, tongue tied, I even smiled.

But it stung I felt….. I had to write it down, lay it out on a clean page, piece by piece, examine our words and actions, replay,hold it up against the light….

I sat down with my pen: ‘Belittled.’ ‘Dismissed.’ ‘Like a little child.’ – Then….No! She is not to blame. She doesn’t realize that beyond my fragile look, there is pride and dignity. Pity…
